2002 Tondre's Grapefield Pinot Noir
This wine evokes the cool climate of the Santa Lucia Highlands. When the right varietal is planted in the
right location, winemaking becomes an act of simply allowing the fruit to express itself. The fruit from
Tondre's Grapefield expresses itself beautifully. It has the typical spiciness of the Highlands appellation,
coupled with an amazing depth of tart red cherry. The tight grain of the Hungarian oak used in aging allows
only a subtle hint of oak flavours that support, rather than dominate, the fruit. The palate is well structured,
with plenty of colour and smooth tannins to ensure ageability.

2005 Prose (Pinot Noir Rosé)
Saignée, the French term ‘to bleed’, describes the winemaking technique used to make this rosé. While the vat is being filled with the pinot noir grapes, a portion of the juice is drawn (bled) off, chilled and fermented at 58° F to maintain the wonderful delicate red cherry and floral aromas inherent in pinot noir. This wine has a clean dry crispness associated with classic rosés; a perfect companion for light dishes and picnics.

2003 Kruse Vineyard Pinot Noir
The York Mountain appellation is located near Templeton and Paso Robles. Although Paso is well known for Zinfandel
and Syrah, the Templeton Gap, an East - West valley where Kruse Vineyard is situated, is cooled by the maritime
influence of the Pacific. The finest of California's Pinot Noir vineyards are all located in the cooler parts
of the state, and York Mountain is one of the coolest. These cooler regions give us the raw material to make
wines of great depth and fruitiness. This particular pinot shows a splendid array of tart red cherries and ripe
black cherries, with an overlay of toasty oak and cinnamon spice.

2001 Pommard Clone Pinot Noir
The Pommard clone is known for it's ability to create burly Pinot Noir, and the 2001 Sonnet incarnation is
no exception. To tame this wine it was aged for nineteen months in old French oak barrels. Old barrels were
used to avoid making the wine excessively tannic, and to preserve the elegant red and black cherry fruit
flavours and aromas. The tannins are still noticeable, but are now moderate and approachable, allowing
the fruity character of this wine to shine through all the way to the finish. Faint, subtle notes of nutmeg
and cinnamon add a spicy dimension while balanced acidity helps to round off the palate.
